Meet Dr. Douglas Craig

As President of Atlantic OccuPsych, Douglas Craig, PsyD is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in psychological testing, forensic assessment, and public safety psychology.


A former police officer and university professor, Dr. Craig brings a unique combination of firsthand field experience and clinical expertise to his leadership. His deep understanding of occupational medical and psychological wellness—coupled with his passion for advocacy, education, and ethical practice—drives Atlantic OccuPsych’s mission to support those who serve and protect.


At Atlantic OccuPsych, Dr. Craig leads the development and delivery of scientifically validated psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for anxiety, mood, and trauma-related disorders. His practice encompasses both pre-employment and fitness-for-duty evaluations across a wide range of law enforcement and public safety agencies, including police, fire, and emergency services.


Over the course of his career, Dr. Craig has conducted more than 20,000 psychological evaluations and is a recognized expert in independent medical examinations (IMEs). His clients include agencies such as the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Chicago Police Department, as well as many of the nation’s largest fire departments, including Prince George’s County, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, and Frederick County, among others.


Dr. Craig continues to contribute to the advancement of professional standards and ethical guidelines in occupational and public safety psychology, ensuring that assessments reflect both scientific rigor and respect for the individuals and agencies he serves.
